Tina Kelsey

Tina Kelsey has lived in Athens for 35 years. She has a MFA from Kent State and worked for many years as an early childhood intervention specialist. Her classrooms were centered around art and creativity and she taught workshops and wrote much on the subject. For the past 5 years she has been a full time artist making and selling Tiaras at art fairs and shows all over the country as well as working with Passion Works. Tina has been working with Honey for the Heart for seven years. First as a volunteer and most recently as the Student/volunteer coordinator. “It is my favorite thing I do, and I do a lot of fun stuff.” Tina lives in the woods, on 25 acres with her partner, John, and lots of animals: 2 dogs, 3 cats, 9 chickens, 4 guinea hens, 6 ducks and two very large tortoises. Thankfully, her son is grown and lives in Oregon where she is not in charge of keeping anyone else alive and can visit to relax. “I love working with Passion Works, because there is no such thing as too much or over the top. My imagination is brought to life by working with others who bring their expertise to the table. I started out sewing in High School and continued for most of my adult life. I’ve been working with wire, beads and found objects to make my tiaras for the past 12 years but I’m so delighted to be able to combine the joy for tiaras with my first love and make colorful, fun things that bring joy to everyone’s world”.
